Pioneer (0-1) at Mooreland (0-1) — The Mustangs try to spoil the Bearcats’ homecoming. Homecoming, too, for Pioneer coach Kurt Myers, who coached the Bearcats from 2004-07. Pioneer lost to Fairview 34-0 last week, while Mooreland beat Sayre 27-6. Mooreland won last year’s game  42-15, but Pioneer leads the series 8-4.

Crescent (1-0) at OBA(0-1) — The Trojans try to bounce back from last week’s 36-22 loss to Chisholm. Crescent won last year’s game 43-12 and lead the series 3-0.

Waukomis (0-0, 1-0) at Garber (0-0, 1-0) — District B-1 opener for both teams. The two teams combined for 132 points last week — Waukomis (68) and Garber (64). Waukomis is looking to go 2-0 for the first time since 2004. Garber leads the series  27-11.

Covington-Douglas (0-0, 0-1) at Pond Creek-Hunter (0-0, 1-0) — Two teams going in different directions  — the Wildcats lost to Coyle 40-0 and Pond Creek-Hunter beat DCLA 56-6. The Panthers, ranked No. 2 in Class B, lead the series 17-8 since 1982.

Kremlin-Hillsdale (0-0, 0-1) at DCLA (0-0, 0-1) — Kremlin-Hillsdale tries to bounce back from a 68-62 loss to Waukomis. DCLA has won the last 11 meetings, but Kremlin-Hillsdale leads the eight-man series 17-14.


Woodward (1-0) at Garden City, Kan. (0-1) — Woodward looks to go 2-0 for the first time since 2001 after opening the season with a 47-7 rout of El Reno. Garden City fell to 6A Bixby, 30-27. Garden City has won the last three meetings, including a 17-7 win last season. They lead the series 4-1 since 2000.

Kingfisher (1-0) at Chandler (1-0) — The No. 2-ranked Yellowjackets go for their 12th straight regular season win. Chandler opened the season with a 35-7 rout of Stroud.  Kingfisher shut out Guymon 47-0 in its opener behind four touchdowns from Landon Nault. Nault had 89 yards on 11 carries to boost his career rushing total to 5,003 yards. Kingfisher has won the last three meetings and leads the series 7-2 since 1996.

Morrison (1-0) at Alva (0-1) — Morrison opened its season with a 20-6 win over Pawnee. Alva, ranked No. 12 in 2A, tries to rebound from last week’s  28-21 loss to Thomas, ranked No. 1 in Class A. Alva won the first-ever meeting between the two schools 42-14 last season.

Jones (0-1) at Hennessey (1-0) — The visiting Longhorns try to bounce back from last week’s 23-14 loss to Perkins-Tryon. Hennessey, ranked No. 4 in 2A, is coming off a 28-14 win over Christian Heritage. Jones shut out the Eagles 35-0 last season. Hennessey beat the Longhorns 21-7 in the 2011 Class 2A state finals. Jones has won the last three regular season meetings.

Thomas (1-0) at Okeene (1-0) — Few games can match the tradition here. The Terriers are ranked No. 1 in Class A after a 28-21 win over Alva. Okeene is No. 7 after a 26-14 win over Cashion behind four rushing touchdowns by quarterback Scott Dobrinkski Thomas has won the last two meetings and leads the series 23-14 since 1970.

Burns Flat-Dill City (0-1) at Watonga (0-1) —Eagles vs. Eagles. Burns Flat-Dill City fell to Crossings Christian 38-0 last week, while Watonga fell to Elk City 44-27. Watonga won last year’s game, 29-7


Canton (1-0) at Laverne (1-0) — No. 1-ranked Laverne, the defending Class B state champion, is riding a 15-game winning streak after opening the season with a 44-18 win over Shattuck. Canton quarterback M.J. White Eagle threw for four touchdowns and 286 yards in a 52-28 rout of Geary last week. Laverne leads the series 10-5 and has won the last three meetings.

Medford (0-1) at Merritt (1-0) — The visiting Cardinals were drubbed 80-46 last week by Strother. Merritt opened the season by beating Corn Bible 44-6. Merritt won last year’s game 52-6.

Ringwood (1-0) at Seiling (0-1) — Euldado Gomez scored on runs of 41, 44, 64, 27, 61, 64, 21 and 31 yards in leading an offense that gained 649 yards on the ground in a 84-44 win over Timberlake last week. It was the most points scored by a Red Devils team since a  96-16 win over Marshall in 1974. Seiling, in the return of legendary coach Bruce Hendrickson, fell to Sharon-Mutual 46-20.  Seiling leads the series 2-1, but Ringwood won last year’s game 46-21.

Buffalo (0-1) at Boise City (0-1) —Both teams had defensive problems in their openers last week — Buffalo fell to Cherokee 50-0 and Boise City lost to Walsh, Colo., 47-22. Buffalo has won the last three meetings and leads the series 12-7 since 1970. District C-1 opener for both teams.

Waynoka (0-1) at Shattuck (0-1) — Waynoka opened with a 64-20 loss to Garber,while Shattuck fell 44-18 to Laverne. Shattuck has won the last nine meetings in leading the series 9-1. Waynoka’s last win came in 1998 (31-28).

Bluejacket (1-0) at Cherokee (1-0) — Both teams showed explosive offenses last week with Bluejacket beating Welch, 78-34 and Cherokee blowing out Buffalo 50-0.The Chiefs had 258 yards rushing and held the Bison to negative 12 yards rushing. Cherokee is ranked No. 2 in Class C,while Bluejacket is No. 5. District C-3 opener for both teams. Cherokee won last year’s game 60-14.

Timberlake (0-1) at Claremore Christian (1-0) — Claremore Christian beat Riverfield 36-18 in its opener. The visiting Tigers had 444 yards in total offense, but still lost to Ringwood 84-44. The 84 points were the most points Timberlake has ever allowed in a game. District C-3 opener for both teams. Timberlake won last year’s game 54-6.
