OKLAHOMA CITY — —
Enid’s cross country teams had three runners finish in the top 10 at Tuesday’s Putnam City North meet at Woodson Park.
Abby Resendiz of the Pacers had her fourth-straight top eight finish, taking fifth in the girls race with a time of 13:49 over the two-mile course. Teammate Tyler Burge was ninth in 14:15.
Garrett Wallace had a personal best time of 18:51 in finishing fifth in the boys’ 3.1 mile race.
“Abby and Tyler really ran well,’’ said Enid coach Joe Miranov. “If the other three girls can push it up, we can have a pretty solid squad.’’
The Pacers finished fourth out of 18 teams in the girls race with 121 points to finish behind Edmond North (25), Yukon (54) and Putnam North (110).
Wallace was followed by teammates Gavin Lack, 22nd, 19:50; Jake Taylor, 28th, 20:05; Nate House, 39th, 31:29 and Ethan Atwood, 49th, 22:59, a personal record.
“Garrett ran a good, even pace which is what we were looking for,’’ Miranov said. “He had been having problems on the last mile, but he really got his head together and focused on what he needed to.’’
Enid was sixth in the nine-team boys race with 143 points.
