ENID, Okla. — Fourball pushed back

because of weather

Due to an unfavorable weather forecast for this weekend, the opening of the annual Dick Lambertz Memorial Enid Fourball golf tournament has been pushed back to April 6-7 at both Meadowlake Golf Club and Oakwood Country Club.

 The final rounds will be held the following weekend, April 13-14, weather permitting.

All players that have previously signed up to play are still registered unless they contact either Meadowlake or Oakwood to cancel. Registration  will be reopened through April 1 for any players that may wish to sign up for the new dates. Entry fee is $80 and players can register at either Meadowlake or Oakwood.

Davis’ funeral set

Monday in Tulsa

TULSA (AP) — A funeral is planned for Monday for Steve Davis, the former University of Oklahoma quarterback killed in a plane crash in Indiana.

Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Tulsa, followed by a private graveside service.

Davis died in Sunday's plane crash in South Bend, Ind., along with 58-year-old Wes Caves of Tulsa. Services for Caves are still pending.

Kilgore eliminated

from Juco nationals

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — No. 2 seed Spartanburg (S.C.) Methodist outlasted Kilgore (Texas) College, coached by ex-Enid star Brian Hoberecht, 53-51 in a second-round game at the National Junior College Men’s basketball tournament Wednesday.

The Rangers ended the season at 27-6.
