Area athletes set for All-State

ENID, Okla. — Kathryn Dillingham and Alex Dick, who teamed to finish second in No. 1 doubles at the Class 6A girls state tennis tournament, will be concluding their high school careers tonight at the All-State tennis matches in Tulsa.

Dillingham and Dick will be playing for the West girls.

The duo had a 36-4 record this season. Dillingham had a career doubles record of 123-21.Dick was 122-15. Dillingham and Mackenzie Zaloudek were the No. doubles state champs in 2010. Dick and Macy Zaloudek were the No. 2 doubles state champs in 2011.

Neither Acer will be playing in college — Dick plans to go to the University of Oklahoma while Dillingham will go to Southern Methodist University.

EHS and Oklahoma Bible Academy will both be represented at the volleyball all-state match at Bixby High School.

Brooke Wayman, who helped lead the Lady Trojans to four straight state tournaments, will be playing for the Small West.

Wayman had 63 aces, 14 blocks and 381digs as a senior.

Mariah Wagner, who led the Pacers to the regional finals and a 25-10 season, will be playing for the Large West.

Wagner, a three-year starter for the Pacers, had 68 aces, 131 kills, 71 digs and 38 blocks as a senior.

Dover’s Leno Ramirez and Woodward’s Francisco Alvarez are scheduled to play in the All-State baseball games tonight at Oral Roberts University’s J.L. Johnson Stadium.

Ramirez, who led the Longhorns to the Class B state tournament, will be playing for the Small West and will be coached by Fairview’s Ryan Nightengale.

Alvarez will be playing for the West in the large school game.
