ENID, Okla. — Scramble fundraiser

for Enid football



The sixth annual Enid Plainsmen Football Golf Tournament will be held Saturday at Meadowlake Golf Course.

The four-person scramble will have two sessions — 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Cost is $250 per team and includes green fees, cart, lunch and doughnuts and coffee for morning).

All proceeds will benefit Enid football.

Two more teams

reach Juco series



Two more teams have reached the Division II National Junior College World Series, which will begin May 25 at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.

UConn-Avery Point beat Monroe (N.Y.) Community College 12-7 to win the East District Championship.

Brunswick (N.C.) beat Lenoir (N.C.) Community College 8-5 for the Southeast District championship.

The Plains District Championship begins today at Tishomingo. Host Murray State (40-19) will be joined by Hesston (Kan. College (25-16) and MCC-Longview, Mo. (31-8).

The winner advances to the World Series.



Jets’ Martin named to

all-tournament team



Shortstop Braden Martin was the lone Northern Oklahoma College Enid player to be named to the all-tournament team at the recent Region 2 baseball tournament at Bartlesville.

Martin went 5-for-11 for the tournament for a  .455 batting average. He had three RBI and scored a run.



NWDASA youth summer

smash set Saturday



The Northwest District Amateur Softball Association will hold its inaugural Summer Smash Saturday at Government Springs Park.

It will be  a T-ball through 12-under fastpitch invitational tournament.
