ENID, Okla. —
Chisholm and Oklahoma Bible Academy’s boys will be teeing off at the Class 2A state golf tournament, which begins a two-day run at Broken Arrow’s Emerald Falls Golf Club.
Chisholm, which qualified by finishing fourth in the regional at Weatherford last week, will go with a lineup of Chace Stalker, Garrett Birchfield, Karson Brady, Austin Swann and Zach Hill
CHS will be teeing off at the No. 10 tee, beginning with the No. 5 man at 9:20. The Longhorns will be playing with Lincoln Christian and Coalgate.
The Longhorns “hit the ball pretty well’’ during a practice round Sunday, CHS coach Stephen Rempe said.
“We don’t have any particular goal,’’ he said. “We just want to shoot the best scores that we can and have fun.’’
The Trojans, who took the sixth and final spot by one shot at Weatherford, will go with a lineup of Adam Eaton, Josh Barnthouse, Blake Burchel, Thomas Friesen and John Chun.
The Trojans will be teeing off at the No. 1 tee, beginning with the No. 5 man at 9:20. OBA will be playing with Mangum and Christian Heritage.
“It’s all pretty exciting,’’ said OBA coach Stephanie Ediger. “We knew it would be a tight fit to get to state. Our goals are to shoot for the middle of the pack. I think that’s feasible for us.’’
The teams will be playing 36 holes on a day for the second time this season today. The regional was the first time either team played 36 holes together. The tournament concludes with 18 holes Tuesday.
“We were battling the last six or seven holes last week,’’ Ediger said. “We got a little tired, but we hung in there and really came through. I think we can handle it again.’’
The rest of the 12-team field includes Rejoice Christian, Hinton, Kiefer, Laverne, Nowata and Velma-Alma.
