STILLWATER, Okla. —
Enid’s Abby Resendiz was the girls winner at the last “Non-Conference Conference’’ cross country meet with Centennial Conference survivors Ponca City and Stillwater Tuesday.
Resendiz won the first gold medal of her career, covering the two-mile course in 13:22.
The Pacers, as a team, were second to Stillwater (25-35). Ponca City was third with 94.
Other EHS times were Tyler Berge, third, 13:52; Crystal Rangel, ninth, 15:03; Arely Ramirez, 10th, 15:24; Irene DelaTorre, 13th, 15:58; Gabrielle Dick, 14th, 16:08; Krystan Mazza, 16th, 16:07; Morgan Cline, 23rd, 16:56; Courtney Anderson, 24th, 17:09; and Elenah Schneider, 29th, 17:48.
The EHS boys were second as a team with 54 points. Stillwater won with 19 points. Ponca City was third with 63.
Garrett Wallace (18:58) and Gavin Lack (18:59) were fourth and fifth individually. Other EHS times were Jake Taylor,12th, 19:53; Ethan Atwood, 21st, 20:47; Nate House, 22nd, 20:52; Adam Ross, 25th, 21:10; Landon Finley, 31st, 21:42; and Nathan Sargent, 37th, 23:06.
It’s Enid’s final meet before next week’s regionals.
“Our top girls really ran well,’’ said Enid coach Joe Miranov. “This should give them a boost going into regional. The girls as a team ran well.
“Garrett and Gavin are going to have to drop their times if they are going to make it to state as individuals, but they have a chance. We have a week-and-half to do some more speed work to get us prepared.’’
