ENID, Okla. — WVU to start Trickett

at QB against OSU

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen said Clint Trickett will start as quarterback against No. 11 Oklahoma State in place of the injured Ford Childress.

Holgorsen said on his statewide radio show Thursday night that the redshirt freshman Childress has a torn pectoral muscle and didn’t practice this week.

Trickett will be the third starter for the Mountaineers this season. Paul Millard and Childress have started two games apiece.


West Virginia (2-2, 0-1 Big 12) meets Oklahoma State (3-0, 0-0) in Morgantown on Saturday.

Tulsa, OKC to host

Big 12 baseball tourney

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Big 12 Conference said Tulsa’s ONEOK Field will host the Big 12 Baseball Championship in 2015 and Oklahoma City’s Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark will host the event in 2016.

Greybeards holding

tailgate party tonight

The Enid Greybeards, along with ESPN Sports Radio KCRC 1390 and United Supermaket West, are hosting a special tailgate party tonight before the Enid vs. Bartlesville homecoming football game.

The Greybeards will be serving brisket, hamburger or hot dog baskets, which includes beans, potato salad or chips, cookie and a drink for $5 from 5:15 p.m. to 7 p.m. The tailgate is located north of D. Bruce Selby Stadium on Iowa street. All Plainsmen fans are invited.

Premium parking also is available for $10 beginning at 5:15 p.m. on the practice field just west of the stadium. All proceeds benefit the Enid football program.

EHS cagers to have

golf fundraiser Oct. 6

Enid High basketball teams will have a four-person golf scramble Oct. 6 at Meadowlake Golf Course.

There will be a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served at 12:30 p.m.

Cost is $240 per team or $60 a player.
