Chisholm looks to bounce back

ENID, Okla. — Chisholm will try to bounce back after being swept at Fairview Friday when the Longhorns host 89er Conference rival Alva in 6:30 p.m. girls-boys doubleheader tonight.

Both Chisholm teams are 1-1 this season. Danner Kiernan leads the boys, averaging 23.5 points per game, while Kammi Gruber leads the girls with a 12.5 average.

Alva’s boys are 1-1 after a 47-37 win over the Maroons,  while the girls are 2-0 after a 59-39 win over Blackwell Friday.

In other county action tonight (girls records listed first):

Drummond (1-4, 5-0) at Medford (3-0, 0-3) — Drummond’s boys, ranked No. 7 in Class A, are led by Chase Kokojan (25.4). Medford’s girls have allowed only 25.3 points per game. The Lady Bulldogs broke a four-game losing streak Friday with a 45-35 win over Cimarron.

Waukomis (0-4, 3-1) at Dover (2-3, 1-4) — Waukomis’ boys are riding a three-game winning streak. Hunter Lovell is averaging 16 points per game. Dover’s boys are coming off a 62-58 win over Hennessey. The girls are coming off a 96-28 loss to the Lady Eagles.

Kremlin-Hillsdale (3-1) vs. Covington-Douglas (0-1), 5:20 p.m., Pond Creek-Hunter Tournament — Kremlin-Hillsdale has won two straight and already won two more games than it did last season. The Wildcats lost to Waukomis 68-46 on Friday.

Kremlin-Hillsdale (3-1) vs. DCLA girls (1-1), 6:40, Pond Creek-Hunter Tournament — Kremlin-Hillsdale had a three-game winning streak snapped at No. 14 Timberlake, 43-30 Friday. DCLA, which has made three straight trips to the state tournament, beat Morrison 43-40 on Dec. 3.

Cimarron boys (6-1) vs. Fargo (2-4), 5:45 p.m., Canton Tournament —Cimarron, ranked No. 16 in Class A, is coming off a 71-69 loss to No. 7 Drummond. Fargo is coming off back-to-back wins over Aline-Cleo (77-40) and Canton (62-55)

Lomega (5-1) vs. Cimarron (2-5) girls, 7 p.m., Canton Tournament —Lomega, ranked No. 3 in Class B, beat Cimarron 87-42 on Dec. 3. The Lady Blazers are coming off a 45-35 loss to Drummond.
