Scottsdale, Ariz., earned a berth in the National Junior College Division II World Series at David Allen Memorial Ballpark by beating Gateway Community College in a best two out of three series this weekend.
Scottsdale won the first game of the best two-out-of-three series, 4-0, lost the second 3-1 and took the deciding game 5-3.
They will take a 38-19 record into the Series which will run from May 25-June 1.
Grand Rapids, Mich., is the other automatic qualifier.
Murray State beats
Redlands for title
BARTLESVILLE — Murray State beat Redlands 12-10 Sunday to win the NJCAA Region 2 Division II postseason baseball tournament.
Murray State will be hosting the Plains District Championship, which will run Thursday through Saturday.
The Aggies will be pitted against Region 6 champion Hesston College (25-16) and Region 16 champin MCC-Longview, Mo. (31-8).
The district champion advances to the Division II World Series at Enid’s David Allen Memorial Ballpark May 25-June 1.
