Oklahoma State football junior wide receiver Cameron Hunter stabbed

STILLWATER, Okla. — Several news outlets are reporting Oklahoma State University football player Cameron Hunter was stabbed and abducted Monday near a Stillwater park.

Stillwater police spokesman Capt. Randy Dickerson refused to identify the victim, who sustained a stab wound to his abdomen and cut on his arm. A Stillwater Medical Center spokeswoman indicated Tuesday that a patient named Cameron Hunter had been treated at the hospital and released.

Oklahoma State University Assistant Athletic Director/Media Relations Gavin Lang said the athletic department wouldn't confirm the name while a police investigation was pending.

Dickerson said police have few leads in the 5:30 p.m. Monday attack of a 21-year-old OSU student, who told police he was in the 1800 block of Arrowhead Drive when he was stabbed and pulled into a hunter green pickup by a man with white hair. The man dumped the victim at another location in southwest Stillwater, according to an alert from OSU's campus safety.

Stillwater Police Capt. Randy Dickerson said the crime is an isolated one.

Dickerson said police have had limited success gathering information from Hunter to further the investigation.

Neighbors near Arrowhead Drive and Ridge Road said the area is quiet, with mostly graduate students, professors and retirees living there.

Students make up most of the population just north of Admiral Road.

OSU junior Keith Cox lives across from Arrowhead Park.

Cox said he moved to the neighborhood three weeks ago.

"A friend texted me that someone got stabbed near here yesterday," he said.

Anyone with more information should call the Stillwater Police Department tip line at 405-742-8327.
