Hise selected as AD for both NOCs

ENID, Okla. — Former Northern Oklahoma College Enid assistant baseball coach and current tenured professor Jeremy Hise has been named the new athletic director of both the Enid and Tonkawa NOC campuses, the school announced Tuesday.

In the newly created position, Hise succeeds both Raydon Leaton and Greg Krause, who are stepping down to concentrate on their teaching and coaching duties. Leaton currently is the head baseball coach at NOC Enid and Krause is the head women’s basketball coach at the Tonkawa campus.

Hise, according to the school, will be responsible for the administration and direction of the entire intercollegiate athletic program, as well as supervising the entire coaching staff and other personnel within all NOC athletic programs. In addition, he will direct, coordinate, and develop student athletic programs and will also coordinate the department’s administrative and marketing programs that support the Mavericks (Tonkawa) and Jets (Enid) athletic programs.

Hise, a Perry native, has 16 years of coaching experience at the high school, NAIA and NJCAA levels, including 11 years as an assistant baseball coach at NOC Enid. During that time he also served as the academic coordinator and his teams regularly posted a grade point average of 3.0 or above and had several players that were NJCAA academic all-Americans. As the recruiting coordinator, his recruiting classes were ranked in the top 10 nationally in 10 of his 11 seasons.

“I am very excited about the opportunity given to me by (NOC Enid President) Dr. (Cheryl) Evans and the interview committee,” Hise said. “We have an experienced group of successful coaches ... at Northern who I cannot wait to work with. I look forward to building upon our strong academic and athletic tradition.”

Hise is a 1998 graduate of NOC Tonkawa and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma and a masters degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State in 1992.

“I am so pleased to have Jeremy Hise step into this leadership role for Northern Oklahoma College,’’ Evans said. “He brings a passion for NOC and sports that will be instrumental in this challenging role.”

In addition to his athletic director duties, Hise also will assume academic duties and teach during the academic year. He will maintain offices at both the Enid and Tonkawa campuses.
