Tournament to help
defray Beall’s expenses
The Camo Crew Relay for Life is hosting a golf tournament May 31 at Pheasant Run Golf Course.
The Camo Crew Relay for Life is made up of family and friends of Chisholm’s J.T. Beall, who has been diagnosed with a Germinoma brain tumor. He is the son of Chris and Jessica Walker and recently graduated from CHS. Proceeds will help with his medical expenses.
It will be a 1 p.m. start and will cost $60 per person. The group is accepting hole sponsors.

on Express show
Highlights of the Track Meet of Champions and the boys state tennis tournament will be featured on the “Oklahoma High School Sports Express,’’ at 10:30 p.m. Sunday on KOKH (Channel 8, Suddenlink).
Worrell, TU fail to
qualify for NCAA golf
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Enid’s Chris Worrell and his University of Tulsa teammates fell just short of a repeat trip to the NCAA golf tournament Saturday.
The Golden Hurricane finished seventh at the Fayetteville Regional with a 908. The top five teams qualified for the NCAAs, which will be May 28-June 2 at Atlanta. Illinois won the tournament with a 863, followed by Arkansas (866), Texas (880), Oklahoma State (882) and Kent State (892)
Worrell, in his final collegiate tournament, shot a 79 Saturday for a 54-hole score of 228. That tied him for 37th place in the individual competition. He was second among TU golfers behind teammate Mark Mumford (223).
for Juco World Series
NORTH East, Md. — Lackawanna (Pa.) College punched its ticket to the NJCAA Division II World Series at David Allen Memorial Ballpark Saturday by winning the Northeast District.
Lackawanna beat Frederick (Md.) Community College in a best two-out-of-three series. Frederick won the opener, 9-8, but Lackawanna came back to win Game 2, 10-5 and Game 3, 2-1.
Lackawanna will take a 40-19 record into the tournament, which begins Saturday.
2013 YMCA Golf
Classic starts Monday
The 2013 edition of the YMCA Golf Classic is scheduled for Monday at Oakwood Country Club.
Check-in for the event is at 11:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m. signalling the four-person scramble. Entry fees for the tournament are $75 per player or $270 per team, and proceeds go toward the Denny Price Family YMCA’s Summer Day Camp Scholarship Program, which helps pay entry for children and families that can’t afford the camp.
Astros activate Altuve
PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Houston Astros activated second baseman Jose Altuve from the bereavement list Saturday.
after he missed the previous three games while attending his grandmother’s funeral in Venezuela.
Altuve was in the lineup batting third against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He is hitting .333 in 38 games with two home runs and 18 RBI.
“It was a tough time but it’s good to be back with my teammates,” Altuve said.
Infielder Jake Elmore was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City. He started all three games at second base in Altuve’s absence, going 4 for 11 with one double and one RBI.
