EHS swimmers go to meet at OCCC

ENID, Okla. — Enid’s swimmers will have on definite goal today when the Pacers and Plainsmen go to the Putnam City Invitational at the Oklahoma City Community College complex.

“We got to start getting our times down,’’ said EHS coach Ginny Shipley. “I think we will. It’s a nice pool and we’ll have some competition.’’

The Pacers and Plainsmen will have only three more meets before the state meet Feb. 15-16. One of those will be at Rose State College, a metric pool, Jan. 25.

“Swimming in a metric pool blows our kids’ minds,’’ Shipley said.

Eight or nine teams are expected to compete.

Shipley is anxious to see the girls’ 200-yard medley with the return of Sara Nazari.

“Hopefully, we’ll take some more time off,’’ Shipley said.

Jeremy Crise and Michael Johnson are within striking distance of state cuts in the 100 free.
