Chisholm to host 3A-2A track regional

SHAWNEE, Okla. — Host Chisholm and Oklahoma Bible Academy will be among the contenders at a Class 3A regional track championship today.

Field events begin at 9:30 a.m. with running preliminaries scheduled to start at 9:45.

The top three finishers in each event qualify for next week’s state championships at Moore.The next four best times or distances from the four regionals also qualify.

Chisholm’s Falcon Robinett currently has the second-fastest time in 3A girls in the 3,200 (12:18.77) and third-best in the 1,600 (5:43.54). Teammate Delaney Bartley is ranked second in the pole vault (10 feet).

OBA’s boys are ranked No. 1 in two events in Class 3A boys — Dylan White, high jump, 6-4 and the 3,200 relay (8:19.50). Merritt Suenram is third in the 800 (2:01.22).

Chisholm’s Karsten Brady ranks second among Class 3A boys long jumpers with a 20-9. The Longhorns have the second-fastest time in the 1,600 relay (3:29.15). Austin Swann is third in the 400 meters (50.49).

OBA and the Longhorns will be joined by Alva, Crooked Oak, Harding Fine Arts, Holdenville, Lindsay, Newkirk, Nowata, Oklahoma Centennial, OCS, Pawhuska, Perkins-Tryon and Perry.

Competing in the 2A regional will be Drumright, Fairview, Hennessey, Hinton, Hominy, Hooker, Morrison, Pawnee, Pioneer, Ripley, Thomas and Yale.
