ENID, Okla. — Northern Oklahoma College Enid’s softball team, coming off run-rule losses to Seminole on Saturday, hosts Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Carl Albert in a 2 p.m. doubleheader today at Pacer Field.

It’s the start of a busy week for the Lady Jets (11-10,  conference and 31-14 overall), who visit NOC Tonkawa (4-18, 12-31) on Thursday and Eastern Oklahoma (10-10, 17-20) on Saturday.

Carl Albert is 4-15 in conference and 16-25 overall. The Lady Jets belted five home runs — two by Kori Barrios and Lacey Shipp and one by Taylor Todd — in sweeping the Vikings, 13-5 and 7-6 in Poteau last week.

It’s a makeup game from Monday, which was postponed because of cold temperatures.

“It’s a huge week for us,’’ said NOC Enid head coach Jamie Roberts. “It’s always important to bounce back from a loss, which we have been able to do this season. Hopefully, we can keep it up.’’

NOC Enid has been able to avoid sustained losing streaks this season.

The Lady Jets came back to win their next game after being swept by Seward, Kan., on Feb. 25 and by Seminole on March 23. NOC Enid’s longest skid has  been only two games.

“They put the bad games behind them,’’ Roberts said. “It takes a little more maturity to do something like that.’’

NOC Enid currently is fourth in the OCAC, with Western Oklahoma (8-8) and Eastern (10-10) close behind.Connors State is third at 12-6.

NOC Enid swept NOC Tonkawa, 4-2 and 10-4 and split with Eastern, winning the opener 10-2 and losing the second game, 12-2.

“We’re capable of winning six games this week,’’ Roberts said. “We’re pretty confident. The team feels good about the task at hand.’’
