ENID, Okla. —
Northern Oklahoma College Enid’s baseball team will warm up for Thursday’s conference doubleheader with Carl Albert when the Jets face Dodge City, Kan., Community College in a 2 p.m. single nine-inning game today.
The Jets (20-15) are coming off a split of a four-game series with Western Oklahoma.
NOC Enid split with Dodge City on the road on April 1, winning the first game12-7 and losing the second 7-5 when the Jets used several of their backups.
It will be a homecoming for two former Enid High players — Haden Houska, who is hitting .315 with 14 doubles, four triples and 23 RBI and Jerry Kearney, who is 1-0 with a 2.08 and 11 strikeouts in 13 innings.
Trent Troxell, who played on Enid’s Connie Mack team, is hitting .316 with six doubles, one triple, three homers and 13 RBI.
NOC Enid coach Raydon Leaton said he was undecided about his starting pitcher. Nik Gifford is leading the NOC Enid offense with a .366 average.
The doubleheader with Carl Albert, originally scheduled for Wednesday at David Allen Memorial Ballpark, has been moved to Failing Park on the NOC Enid campus at 1 p.m. Thursday.
