ADA, Okla. — No. 1 singles plyer Savannah Blasi and the No. 1 doubles team of Alexis Blasi and Gabrielle Dick both recorded seconds as the Enid Acers finished fith at the Ada girls tennis tournament Friday.

Kaylee Heitfeld was 12th at No. 2 singles, and Abby Gwin and Mia Goulart were eighth at No. 2 singles as the Acers had 40 points to finish behind Jenks (52), Duncan (51), Edmond North (46) and Heritage Hall (41).

Savannah Blasi reached her first singles finals of the season, avenging an earlier loss to Anne Hays of Edmond North, 7-6, 6-0 in the semifinals. Blasi (10-5) lost to Sarah Cameron of Jenks, 6-1, 6-1 in the finals.

“I think Savannah was a little more comfortable today,’’ said Enid coach Darrell Herndon about Blasi, who was fourth at Enid on Monday. “She was a little tense in front of the home crowd.’’

Alexis Blasi and Dick lost only seven games in their first three matches in reaching the finals. However, they fell to Jenks’ McKinleigh Lair and Alex Williams, 6-4, 6-2 in the finals.

“The No. 1’s all had a real good day,’’ Herndon said.

Heitfeld was 1-3 on the day, losing to Jenks’ Taylor Cox, 6-2, 6-1 in the 11th-place match.

Gwin and Goulart won their first-round match, but lost their next three. They were involved in three three-set matches, going 1-2.

They lost their seventh-place match to an Edmond North team, 6-3, 6-1.

“We need to get more points from the No. 2 division,’’ Herndon said. “It was good to see Mia and Abby get to the right side of the bracket. If they could have won those three-set matches, it might have made some difference.’’
