EHS soccer opens season tonight
Enid’s soccer teams try for a second time to get their season started tonight when they host Sand Springs. Their originally scheduled home-opener was snowed out Friday.
The girls are scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m., followed by the boys at 7.
The girls shut out Sand Springs, 1-0 last year, while the boys lost 4-1.
It will be Military Appreciation Night. Anyone with a valid military ID will be admitted free.
NOC Enid doubleheader today at Independence
NOC Enid’s baseball team will attempt to come back from Sunday’s doubleheader loss at Northeastern A&M when they visit Independence, Kan., for a 3 p.m. doubleheader.
Zach Bradford and Stetson Buller are scheduled to pitch for the Jets (2-10). Christian Lafontan will be the Enid starter for Wed-nesday’s 3 p.m. nine-inning single game with Cowley County (Kan.) at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.
The Jets, in their first action in 12 days, lost to NEO 12-3 and 3-2. They managed only three hits the first game, but had nine hits the second game.
“The first game we looked like a team that hadn’t been outside in 18 days,’’ said NOC Enid coach Raydon Leaton. “We played better the second. They scratched out two runs (in the bottom of the seventh) and found a way to beat us.’’
EHS soccer to host ‘Coaches Appreciation Night’ on Friday
