Pacers volleyers play in regionals today

The 14th-ranked Enid Pacers volleyball team opens regional volleyball play today at Bishop Kelley.

The Pacers (23-9) will battle 16th-ranked Muskogee (22-18) at 6 p.m. Sapulpa (4-16) will play top-ranked Bishop Kelly (28-4) at 4 p.m. The winners will meet at 8 p.m. for the right to advance to the 6A state tournament.

“Muskogee is very similar to us,” said Pacers head coach Steve Bloom. “It will be a tight match. If we play good defense and serve well, we’ll have a chance to win and get a shot at Bishop Kelley.

“We’ve had a good week of practice and we’re ready to go.”
