Harmon finishes 7th
in 4A No. 1 singles
OKLAHOMA CITY — Chisholm freshman Tyler Harmon beat Sallisaw’s Jordan Dotson 6-3, 6-2 to take seventh place in No. 1 singles at the Class 4A state boys tennis tournament Saturday at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center.
Harmon beat Poteau’s Skylar Abbott 6-2, 6-3 in an elimination match in the morning, but lost to Crossings Christian’s Lucas Meacham 6-4, 6-3 in the semifinals.
He finished the season with a 20-4 record.
Oklahoma Bible Academy’s Logan Jantz, in No. 2 singles, lost to Harding Prep’s Joseph Nguyen 6-3, 6-4 in an elimination match. He finished the season at 15-7.
Pioneer alumni baseball
game set for Saturday
Pioneer Alumni baseball game will be played on Saturday at John D. Riesen Field. The home run derby is at 1 p.m., followed by the game at 2:30 p.m. Those interested in playing should contact coach Dave Riesen at 242-2091.
Grand Rapids first to
qualify for Juco Series
Grand Rapids, Mich., Community College became the first team to qualify for the Division II Junior College Baseball World Series Saturday by beating Delta (Mich.) College 8-3 and 3-0 in the finals of the Region 12 tournament in Battle Creek, Mich.
Grand Rapids will take a 27-26 record into the tournament.
There will be a meeting for all prospective Enid High School volleyball players and their parents at 7 p.m.Tuesday at the EHS lectorium.
