Chisholm softball opens state today
Chisholm will face No. 2-ranked Washington at 11:15 a.m. today in a first-round Class 4A state slow-pitch tournament game at Field 1 at Oklahoma City’s Hall of Fame Stadium.
The Lady Longhorns (29-8) are in the state tournament for the first time since 2005.
Washington (26-7) beat Mangum, 13-7 in its regional final last week.
The winner will play the Tushka-Mangum winner at 1:45 p.m. on Field No. 4.
The championship game is set for 4:45 p.m. on Field 1, the home of the Women’s College World Series.
OBA, Chisholm golf headed to 2A state
Chisholm and Oklahoma Bible Academy’s golf teams are headed to the Class 2A state golf tournament at Emerald Falls in Broken Arrow Monday and Tuesday.
The Longhorns and Trojans were fourth and sixth at the regional Monday in Weatherford.
OBA will be paired with Mangum and Christian Heritage at state. The No. 5 men will tee off at 9:20 a.m., followed by the 4s at 9:30, the 3s at 9:40, the 2s at 9:50 and the 1s at 10 a.m. from the No. 1 tee.
Chisholm will be teeing off at the same time at No. 10. They are paired with Lincoln Christian and Coalgate.
Chisholm had a team score of 669. Chace Stalker had the low score among Longhorn players with a 162 (80-82), followed by Garrett Birchfield (82-83-165), Karson Brady (84-84-168), Austin Swann (84-90-174) and Zach Hill (93-103-196),
OBA had a team score of 690. Adam Eaton (77-76) and Josh Barnthouse (85-78) both had 36-hole scores of 163. Blake Burchel (91-93-184) and Thomas Friesen (94-96-190).
Mooreland will be the only area team in the field for the Class 2A girls state golf tournament which tees off today at Trosper Park.
Two area players will be playing as individuals — Timberlake’s Ami Adkisson and Laverne’s Lindsay Stalnman.
