STILLWATER, Okla. —
Enid’s boys had a 1-2-3-4 finish in the 400 meters in finishing third as a team at the Stillwater Invitational track meet Thursday.
Alex Lofton won his fourth gold of the spring in the event with a 50.09, followed by teammates Alex McCoy (50.58), Seth Handley (50.8) and Aaron Beagle (51.93).
Lofton, Handley and McCoy teamed with Raheem Mitchell to win the 1,600 relay in 3:26. Mitchell, Handley, Johnny Lawrence and Marshawn Mills won the 400 relay in 42.47.
Rob Frantz won his first gold medal of the year in the discus with a throw of 122 feet and seven inches.
Mitchell, McCoy, Mills and Handley were third in the 800 relay in 1:30. Mills (22.14) and Mitchell (22.42) were second and third in the 200. Beagle was third in the 800 (2:09). Chris Daniels, Beagle, Antonio Thomas and Jake Taylor were sixth in the 3,200 relay (9:07).
Macy Adams was the Pacers’ lone gold medalist winning the high jump with a leap of five feet.
Abby Resendiz, running for the first time after reporting from soccer, was second in the 800 (2:43), followed by teammates Kylynn Burton, fourth, 2:51 and Autumn D’Auteuil, sixth, 2:55. Savannah D’Auteuil was third in the 3,200 (12:57) and sixth in the 1,600 (6:15).
EHS had fourth-place finishes from Tyler Burge, 3,200 (13:07) and Andi Pierce, 1,600 (5:59). Burge, Burton, Pierce and Misha Claytor were third in the 3,200 relay in 10:51. Adams, Latara Wooley, Natasha Washington and Clayton were fourth in the 400 relay (53.17).
“I thought we ran well,’’ said EHS coach Joe Miranov. “We tried some new people in some events. We’re still a little banged up. We need a little time to recover for regionals next week.’’
