Chisholm, OBA in playoffs

NEWKIRK, Okla. — Chisholm earned a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 2002 with a 34-13 win over Newkirk.

Taggart Brown threw three touchdowns for the Longhorns, who broke the game open with a 20-point fourth quarter. Brown’s scoring passes were 33 and 37 yards to Austin Swann and 70 yards to Danner Kiernan.

Bryce Stewart ran 1 and 5 yards for scores for Chisholm, which led 14-7 at the half and 14-13 after three periods.

The win improves the Longhorns to 8-1 overall and 4-1 in District 2A-1. Chisholm will host Tonkawa next week with a chance to place second in district.

OBA 6, HOOKER 0

HOOKER — Oklahoma Bible Academy clinched a playoff berth with a 6-0 win over Hooker.

Adrian Moore scored the only touchdown on a 15-yard pass from Preston Atwood in the second period.

The Trojans’ defense made the score stand up as they held Hooker to 182 total yards. The win boosts OBA to 5-4 overall and 4-2 in District A-1. OBA will close out the regular season by hosting Fairview next week.

WAUKOMIS 52, MEDFORD 20

WAUKOMIS — Justus Crites and Gage McCartney scored three touchdowns each as Waukomis beat Medford 52-20.

Crites returned a punt 65 yards for a score and ran for two other scores. McCartney ran 8 and 10 yards for scores and caught a 38-yard scoring pass from Crites. Ryan Coontz also scored for the Chiefs. Senior Tim Sheets scored on a two-point conversion.

Cade Newman scored twice for Medford, while Robbie Webb added the other touchdown.

The win improves Waukomis to 3-6 overall and 2-6 in District B-1. Medford falls to 0-9 overall and 0-8 in district.

CROSSINGS CHRISTIAN 13,

PIONEER 12

WAUKOMIS — Crossings Christian beat Pioneer in a District A-3 game.

The loss drops the Mustangs to 1-8 overall and 0-5 in district. Pioneer will close out the season next week at Minco.

POND CREEK-HUNTER 50,

 CANTON 16

CANTON — Josh Irvin ran for three touchdowns and threw for two more to lead Pond Creek-Hunter to a 50-16 win over Canton.

Irvin ran 23, 3, and 6 yards for scores and threw TD passes of 14 yards to Zach Rayner and 21 yards to Trent Grimes. Grimes also scored on a 69-yard run.

Harley Comeau also scored for the Panthers.

Chase Hysel and Lance Sessions scored for Canton.

The win improves PC-H to 9-0 overall and 8-0 in District B-1 and sets up a big game next week against defending champion Laverne for the district title.

Canton falls to 2-7 overall and 1-7 in district.

OKEENE 28, TEXHOMA 12

OKEENE — Okeene clinched the District A-1 title with a 28-12 win over Texhoma.

Scott Dobrinski scored all four touchdowns for the Whippets, ranked No. 5 in Class A. He ran for three 3-yard runs and ran a kickoff back 90 yards for the other score.

The win boosts Okeene to 8-1 overall and 6-0 in district.

FAIRVIEW 33, BEAVER 12

FAIRVIEW — Joel Kliewer scored four touchdowns to lead Fairview to a 33-12 win over Beaver.

Kliewer ran for scores of 4 and 6 yards. He caught touchdown passes of 18 yards from Brett Fast and 6 yards from Jensen Smith. Smith scored on a 57-yard pass from Fast.

The win was the Yellowjackets fifth straight. They are 6-3 overall and 5-1 in District A-1.

Beaver is 1-8 overall and 0-6 in district.

KINGFISHER 45, NEWCASTLE 7

NEWCASTLE — Landon Nault scored three touchdowns as Kingfisher won the District 3A-3 championship with a 45-7 win over Newcastle.

Docker Haub threw two touchdown passes for the Yellowjackets and ran for another score.

The win improves Kingfisher, ranked No. 2 in Class 3A, to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in district.

BLUEJACKET 58, T-LAKE 28

BLUEJACKET — Braden Buller threw three touchdown passes but Timberlake lost 58-28 to Bluejacket.

Buller’s scoring passes were 60 and 58 yards to Jacob Henderson and 15 yards to Adrian Caron. Buller also ran 1 yard for another score.

The loss drops Timberlake to 5-4 overall and 3-2 in district.  The win gave Bluejacket second in District C-3.



WAYNOKA 22, DCLA 14

LAMONT — Logan Merriweather scored two touchdowns to lead Waynoka to a 22-14 win over Deer Creek-Lamont.

Christ Castiol also scored for the Railroaders.

DCLA’s Lane Williams scored twice, on a 2-yard run and on a 7-yard pass from Harrison Muegge.

DCLA, which clinched a playoff spot last week, is 3-5 overall. Waynoka is 5-4.

MOORELAND 28, TURPIN 6

TURPIN — Mooreland assured itself of a second straight winning season  with a 28-6 win over Turpin.

The Bearcats are 6-3 overall and 3-3 in District A-1. Turpin falls to 0-8 overall and 0-6 in district.

SHARON-MUTUAL 56,

GOODWELL 7

SHARON — Cooper Free ran for six touchdowns as Sharon-Mutual beat Goodwell 56-7.

Free ran for scores of 65, 15, 1, 15, 61, and 25 yards. He had 329 yard rushing. Free also threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Ben Cooper, who also ran an interception back 85 yards for a score.

The Trojans, 9-0 overall and 6-0 in District C-1, will play Shattuck next week for the district title.

HENNESSEY 52, TONKAWA 15

HENNESSEY — Hennessey clinched at least a tie for the District 2A-1 title with a 52-15 win over Tonkawa.

The win improves the Eagles to 8-1 overall and 5-0 in district.

Hennessey can clinch the championship by beating Alva next week.

LAVERNE 64, SEILING 14

SEILING — Laverne defeated Seiling 64-14 to win its 23 straight game.

The defending Class B champions are 9-0 overall and 8-0 in District B-1. The Tigers will face Pond Creek-Hunter, which also is 9-0 and 8-0, for the district title next week.

ALVA 61, DIBBLE 25

DIBBLE — Alva stepped out of district play and beat Dibble 61-25.

The Alva defense forced nine turnovers. The win improves the Goldbugs to 7-2. They will play host to Hennessey next week.

WOODWARD 70, ELK CITY 21

WOODWARD — Woodward clinched a playoff berth with a 70-21 District 4A-1 win over Elk City.

The win improves the Boomers to 7-2 overall and 5-1 in district Woodward faces Clinton next week..

SHATTUCK 52, BOISE CITY 12

SHATTUCK — Shattuck defeated Boise City 52-12 in a District C-1 game.

The win improves the Indians to 8-1 overall and 6-0 in district. They will play Sharon-Mutual next week for the district title.



CRESCENT 24, WATONGA 2

CRESCENT — Crescent beat Watonga 24-2 in a District A-3 game.

The loss drops Watonga to 4-5 overall and 2-3 in district. The win clinches a playoff berth for Crescent, which is 6-3 overall and 4-2 in district.



WOODWARD 70, ELK CITY 21

WOODWARD — Woodward clinched a playoff berth with a 70-21 District 4A-1 win over Elk City.

The win improves the Boomers to 7-2 overall and 5-1 in district.
