ENID, Okla. —
Brunswick Community College (N.C.) will be entering its first-ever NJCAA Division II World Series on a losing note.
The Dolphins qualified as champions of the Southeast District with a 9-5 win over Lenoir Community College to raise their record to 37-13, but had their record significantly adjusted after the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association ruled the Dolphins used an ineligible player and were ordered to forfeit 18 regular-season wins.
The ruling did not impact their participation in the World Series, however, it means the 10th- ranked Fins will be entering the tournament with an adjusted record of 19-31.
Brunswick’s first game in the Series is 4 p.m. Saturday at David Allen Memorial Ballpark against Plains District champion Murray State (41-21).
