ENID, Okla. —
Owasso scored five runs in the sixth and two in the seventh to rally past Enid 9-3 in District 6A-4 softball action Tuesday night at Pacer Field. Enid led 3-2 after scoring three runs in the third, but were held scoreless the rest of the game. Owasso out- hit the Pacers 12-7.
“I thought we played one of our better games of the season,’’ said Enid coach Marsha Cusack, whose team dropped to 8-16 overall and 3-8 in the district.“Owasso is one of the better teams in 6A softball and we gave them all they wanted. They were pretty nervous. Our kids came out and competed.”
Owasso took advantage of an Enid error in the sixth, but “they just got hot at the right time,’’ Cusack said.
“We made some good plays on defense,’’ Cusack said. “I’m pleased the way things are progressing. The changes we have made are good changes.’’
Sophomore Brooke Sears has taken over at shortstop. Freshman Olivia Andrews, who was 3-for-3 Tuesday, has taken over in right field. Haven Bay has moved to left.
“Haven made some great plays tonight,’’ Cusack said.
Bay was 2-for-3. Losing pitcher Ally Lewis and Abby Lee both had RBI. McKayla Herbst was 1-for-3.
