Lady Jets twinbill set back to Wednesday

ENID, Okla. — Northern Oklahoma College Enid’s softball team will have to wait another day before putting its 10-0 record on the line at Seward (Kan.) County.

The doubleheader originally scheduled for Tuesday between the two teams was pushed back until Wednesday because of the weather.

Seward takes an 11-2 record into the twinbill after beating Western, Texas, 12-7, but losing to Western Oklahoma College 9-5 Saturday.

The Lady Jets take a .415 team batting average into the twinbill. NOC Enid is tied for second nationally with 20 home runs overall.

Kendra Coleman is hitting .500 with five homers and 20 RBI. Jazmine White is batting .462 with three homers and 11 RBI.

NOC Enid has a team ERA of 1.87 with 92 strikeouts over 67 innings and only 27 walks.

Coleman (5-0, 2.21 ERA), Summer Leitka (3-0, 0.70 ERA) and Marissa Dominguez (1-0, 4.20 ERA) all will see time on the mound.

“It will be a good matchup for us,’’ said NOC Enid head coach Jamie Roberts. “Seward has a good ballclub. They have a bunch of California kids. It’s always hard to go on the road. I know we have to lose sooner or later, we just hope it’s later.’’ Hopefully, we’ll keep rolling.’’
