Enforcers kick off
Enid Enforcers will begin their Central Football League season at 7 tonight when they host the Oklahoma Force at D. Bruce Selby Stadium.
The game is part of a doubleheader with the Joplin Crusaders — who lost to the Enforcers 28-21 in last year’s title game — facing the Northern Oklahoma Rufnex at 3 p.m.
Admission is $7. Children under 10 are free. Dollar hamburgers and hot dogs will be sold all day.
Enforcers player-owner Mark Timberlake said all the players are back from last year’s championship team. Former Northwestern Oklahoma State star Al Hunt will quarterback. Coursey Young, one of the Enforcers’ quarterbacks last season, has moved back to running back, his natural position.
The Enforcers beat the Oklahoma Force 43-7 last season.
“They have some good coaches and good athletes,’’ said Timberlake. “We have been real fortunate we have had some real good athletes come through Enid.’’
