ENID, Okla. — The Enid Minors used strong pitching performances from Garrett Dimmitt and Matt Mills to sweep a Les Beckham League doubleheader from the Southwest Shockers, 4-0 and 4-3 in nine innings at David Allen Memorial Ballpark Tuesday.

Dimmitt, in the opener, struck out seven and did not walk a batter. He threw a four-hitter in posting the shutout.

Browning Nicolett, Hunter Childs and Elliott Holden all had two hits.

Mills went all nine innings in the nightcap, allowing six hits, one walk, while striking out seven. He gave up only one earned run.

Enid scored the winning run in the ninth when Tanner Black tripled and scored on a single by Bates Enmeier. Black and Enmeier both had two hits for the Minors, now 6-10.

“That was by far the best we had played this season,’’ said Minors coach Seth Sturgeon. “You can’t ask for any better pitching than we got from Matt Mills and Garrett Dimmitt.’’

The Minors will host Alva Thursday at David Allen.
