BARTLESVILLE, Okla. —
Jerry Kearney struck out 10 as the Enid Majors beat Fort Smith Kerwin 6-2 to reach the championship round of the Glen Winget Invitational Saturday.
Garron Nixon and Cody Daylor homered for the Majors. Silvano Tarango was 3-for-4 with a run scored.
Nixon’s two-run homer was the big blow in a three-run first inning. Daylor hit a solo homer in the fourth. It was Nixon’s second homer of the season and Daylor’s first.
The Majors did not commit an error for the second straight game.
Enid, 28-13, will play Rogers, Ark., at 5 p.m. today. If the Majors win, they would play in the finals immediately following.
“We played great,’’ said Enid assistant coach Butch Lingenfelter.
