NOC Enid routs Tabor JV

HESSTON, Kan. — Xavier McClish scored 25 points and Connor Brooks and Dalen Qualls both added 16 points as Northern Oklahoma College Enid’s men routed Tabor JV, 87-55 in the first day of the Hesston Classic Friday.

The Jets, 6-2, will face No. 16 Barton County (Kan.) Community College at 4 p.m. today.

The Jets raced out to a 43-27 halftime advantage and never looked back. The 55 points was the fewest points NOC Enid has allowed in a game this season.

“We played OK,’’ said Jets assistant coach Ryan Mahoney. “We didn’t have the intensity and effort that we were looking for, but we played well enough to win.’’

Mahoney said the Jets will have to play better to beat Barton, who took a 10-0 record into the festival.

“They are a very good team,’’ Mahoney said. “We are going to have to play hard and bring 40 minutes of intensity and hard work.’’

It was the fourth time McClish has scored 20 or more points in a game this season. Brooks and Qualls both had their season-high outputs.
