ENID, Okla. —
Gabrielle Dick, the state runnerup at No. 2 singles at the Class 6A tennis tournament, will be joining the Pacers cross country team for today’s Edmond Pre-State meet at Santa Fe High School. The meet starts at 10 a.m.
Dick ran in the first meet of the season, but dropped out because of conflicts with tennis.
“That’s good news for us,’’ Enid coach Joe Miranov said. “She has been running a bit. This is the first time we have had everybody together and we’ll see how things work out.’’
Abby Resendiz, the Pacers No. 1 runner, is back in the lineup after missing the last two meets. She and Dick will be joined by Tyler Berge, Arely Ramirez, Kirstyn Mazza,Irene DeLaTorre and Crystal Rangel.
The boys will go with their usual lineup of Garrett Wallace, Gavin Lack, Jake Taylor, Nate House, Ethan Atwood and Landon Finley.
The meet — held on the site of the 6A state championships — is expected to attract most of the state’s top teams and runners, with the exception of Owasso and Sand Springs.
Miranov said the strong field should give Enid a good idea of where it stands.
