Sports briefs for 9-19-13

Pacers softball heads to Sapulpa tonight

Enid’s softball team will be going for a sweep of District 6A-4 rival Sapulpa when the Pacers visit the Chieftians at 7:30 tonight.

The Pacers, 8-16 overall and 3-8 in district, beat Sapulpa 8-1 last week behind a seven-strikeout performance by Ally Lewis. Jade McAlister was 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Enid is coming off a 9-3 loss to Owasso, a game which it led 3-2 after five innings.

“If we play like we did the other night, we ought to be in good shape,’’ said Pacers assistant coach Carl Gaebler. “The girls are playing a little looser and they’re showing improvement.’’

The game can be heard on KGWANews.com.

OBA volleyball’s ‘Pack The House’ is tonight

All fans wearing black will be admitted free, and fans will have a chance to win several prizes, including an iPad.
