NORMAN, Okla. —
The “personal issues” that kept Oklahoma linebacker Frank Shannon out of last Saturday’s Red-White Game are serious.
The Oklahoman reported Wednesday night that Shannon has been accused of violating the University of Oklahoma’s Sexual Misconduct, Discrimination and Harassment Policy.
Shannon has not been charged with a crime in a criminal court.
According to the report, Shannon is accused of sexually assaulting a female student on Jan. 20 in his Norman apartment. Under Title IX, the school must investigate any claims of sexual assault, discrimination, harassment or misconduct.
According to the report, Shannon has denied committing the sexual assault.
Shannon led OU with 92 tackles last season and started all 13 games as a sophomore.
