Connie Mack Regional Qualifier team capsules

ENID, Okla. — A capsule look at the teams in this year’s Connie Mack Regional Qualifier Tournament that opens today and runs through Sunday in Enid:

Enid Majors — Nothing on the line for the Majors, who  are guaranteed a spot in the regional regardless of their outcome in the qualifier, but still a chance to hone their game down the stretch. The Majors are one of the hottest teams entering the tournament at 16-7 and winners of 14 of their last 17 games.

Enid Minors — Unlike the Majors, the Minors are not guaranteed a spot in the regional without winning the qualifier and have a tough draw in Pool B.

DBAT Chapman (Dallas) - Part of Dallas Baseball Academy of Texas. DBAT operates 49 teams and since 2009 have had over 100 players selected in MLB Draft. DBAT Chapman enters the tournament with a record of 4-1.

Frozen Ropes (Texas) - Also operates 49 teams, based out of McKinney, Texas. Have produced 58 college players since 2010 and are pegged as the tournament favorite. Frozen Ropes is 10-5 on the season.

Oklahoma Fuel (Edmond) - First competition in AABC and Connie Mack for OK Fuel who are 7-2 so far this year.

Oklahoma Sandlot (Oklahoma City) - The Sandlot have won three of the last four Oklahoma Connie Mack State Tournaments and have participated in three consecutive South Plains Regional Tournaments in Dallas. Sandlot has two entries: 17U and 18U. The Sandlot 18U team enters the tournament with a record of 11-3.

Batters Box (Colorado) - A member of the Colorado Connie Mack, Batters Box brings both their 17U and 18U teams to the qualifier. Have had 18 players play in college since 2010.
