ENID, Okla. — Scott draws unbeaten

Dixon in first round

Jake Scott will have a challenge when the Enid 220-pounder goes to his second-straight state tournament Friday at the State Fair Arena.

Scott (21-5), who finished fourth in the Eastern Regional Saturday, will face Western champion Andrew Dixon of Edmond North, who is 40-0.

The winner will face the winner between Nigel Harris of Muskogee (24-10) and Nic Roller of Bixby (24-12) in the semifinals. The losers will meet in the consolations.

Scott went 1-2 at state last year, beating Elie Rusing of Putnam City 5-3 in the first round before being pinned by Seth Calvert of Broken Arrow and Westmoore’s John Finn.

 Billy Grothe (25-9) will face Westmoore’s Keaton Randall (26-8) in the first round at 126 pounds.

Grothe, who finished third at the Eastern Regional, is at the state tournament for the first time. Randall, a senior, finished second at the Western Regional.

The winner will face the winner between Union’s Luke Wolfenberger (38-5) and Muskogee’s Matt Acee (29-17) in the semifinals.

The losers meet in the consolations.

Holthoff all-conference as

Lady Bears win MVC

Enid sophomore Megan Holthoff earned first team all-conference honors in helping Missouri State’s women win an unprecedented sixth-straight Missouri Valley Conference swim title Saturday.

Holthoff placed in six events for the Lady Bears.

She swam the first leg of the winning 200-yard medley relay (1:42.03) and was part of a 400-yard free relay, which was third (3:26.69) and a 200-yard free relay, which was fourth (1:34.15).

Holthoff had two thirds – 100 back (56.74) and 200 back (2:02.43) and was 12th in the 50 free (24.06).�
