DRUMMOND — Covington-Douglas’ boys used a tip-in at the buzzer to defeat Davenport 53-52 in a Class A district basketball tournament Friday.

The Wildcats (10-13) got 17 points from Quenten Thayer and 14 points from Dylan Daugherty to advance to tonight’s finals against host Drummond (21-4).

In the girls game, Covington-Douglas got 13 points from Hailey Kaiser to beat host Drummond 31-19.

The Lady Wildcats (6-17) will play Davenport at 6:30 tonight in the finals. It’s the first time since 2007 the Lady Wildcats have reached the regional tournament.

Drummond (9-17) was led by Brittney Miller and McKenna Morrison with four points.



KREMLIN-HILLSDALE 58,

RINGWOOD 47 (G)

OKARCHE — Katie Davis scored 23 points as Kremlin-Hillsdale (8-16) beat Ringwood 58-47 in a Class A district elimination game.

The Lady Broncs used a 17-9 second-quarter run to take a 31-16 halftime lead and never looked back. They will play No. 1-ranked Okarche at 6:30 tonight in the finals.

Lizzy Shaffer had 13 points for Ringwood, which finished the season at 4-19.



RINGWOOD  71,

KREMLIN-HILLSDALE 44 (B)

OKARCHE — Moses Barcenas scored 19 points as Ringwood eliminated Kremlin-Hillsdale in a first-round Class A district tournament game.

The Red Devils  (11-12) raced out to a 19-8 first-quarter lead and never looked back. They will play No. 15 Okarche tonight.

Andre Lizer the Broncs (1-23) with 20 points.



MEDFORD 39,

CHEROKEE 38 (G)

CHEROKEE — Medford outscored Cherokee’s girls 4-3 in overtime to beat the host team 39-38 in a Class A district elimination game Friday.

The Lady Cardinals (9-14) were led by Shelby Quinlan with 14 points.  Nicole Unruh led the Lady Chiefs (11-12) with 15 points.

Medford will play Seiling (12-9) in the finals at 6:30 tonight.



CHEROKEE 37,

MEDFORD 22 (B)

CHEROKEE — Josh Argraves scored 13 and Grant DeWitt added 10 as Cherokee’s boys eliminated Medford 37-22 in a Class A district game. It was a repeat of the Cherokee Strip Tournament championship game.

The 22 points was the lowest scoring ouput of the season for the Cardinals (10-13). The Chiefs (18-5) will play Seiling (15-6)  tonight in the finals.



OKEENE 46, CANTON 36 (G)

GARBER — Okeene used an 18-9 second-quarter spurt to take a 28-19 halftime lead to eliminate Canton 46-36 in a girls’ first-round Class A district game.

The Lady Whippets (11-12) will face host and No. 18-ranked Garber (16-6) in the finals at 6:30 tonight.



OKEENE 52, CANTON 32

GARBER — Brothers Scott (11) and Mikey (10) Dobrinski combined for 21 points as Okeene’s boys beat Canton 52-32 in a first-round district Class A game Friday.

The Whippets (15-7) will play host and No. 14-ranked Garber (17-5) in the finals tonight.



OILTON 44,

ALINE-CLEO 28 (G)

HELENA — Oilton outscored Aline-Cleo 16-2 in the first period on its way to a 44-28 win over the Lady Cougars at the Class B district at Timberlake. Ashlee Beckwith led Aline-Cleo (2-23) with nine points. Oilton faces Timberlake at 6:30 tonight in the finals.



OILTON 58, TIMBERLAKE 40

HELENA — Oilton broke open a close game with a 19-6 fourth-quarter spurt to beat Timberlake’s boys 58-40.  Braden Seaman had 11 points for the Tigers, who finished the season at 4-19.



In Class A action at Cashion, Oklahoma Christian Academy’s girls beat Cimarron to advance to tonight’s finals opposite host Canton. In boys, Cashion beat OCA to advance to tonight’s 8 p.m. finals against Cimarron (14-11).
