ENID, Okla. —
Oakwood Country Club pro Jim Shaughnessy will conduct a informal kids’ 10-under play day at the Oakwood indoor courts from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.
The purpose of the play day is to introduce children to playing tennis. No skills are necessary, Shaughnessy said.
“All you have to be able to do is to eat pizza,’’ he said.
Rackets will be for sale or can be borrowed. “Kid-friendly’’ rules will be used and there will be court monitors. There will be prizes, pizza and a G-rated movie afterward.
Cost is $10 per player. RSVP to Shaughnessy at (580) 278-1074. Walk-ins are welcomed. Checks should be made payable to the JS Tennis Pro Shop.
