NORMAN, Okla. —
Oklahoma Christian University senior Logan Herbst has been named to the Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar list for NCAA Division II, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Wednesday.
Herbst was among 57 Division II players to earn the honor. It was the second straight year Herbst has earned the honor.
To qualify, a player must be a junior or senior academically, competed in at least three full collegiate seasons, participate in at least 50 percent of his team’s competitive rounds or play in the NCAA Championship, have a stroke average under 78.0 and maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
Herbst, from Fairview, had a 3.48 GPA in sports, wellness and recreation management.
He was a second-team all-conference pick and also made the PING Division II South Central All-Region team. He finished fifth in the conference with a 73.52 stroke average, ranking him 52nd in Division II. Herbst also had six top-10 finishes during 2012-13, highlighted by a fourth-place showing in the San Antonio Shoot-Out to open the spring season.
He was named NCCAA student-athlete of the week once and finished his career as a four-time All-America honoree.
