MUSKOGEE, Okla. —
Enid’s girls got individual titles from Savannah Blasi at No. 1 singles and the No. 1 doubles team of Gabrielle Dick and Alexis Blasi in capturing the Muskogee girls tennis tournament Wednesday.
The Acers won a coin flip with Broken Arrow after Enid and the Tigers tied for first place with 40 points as EHS claimed its first championship of the season.
“Getting two championships were a big turn of events,’’ said Enid coach Darrell Herndon. “Everybody played pretty well today. It feels good to win.’’
It was the first singles championship of Savannah Blasi’s varsity career. The Acer sophomore won by a default from No. 1 seed Lauren Pickens of Owasso in the finals. Coming in as the No. 3 seed, Blasi (15-6) upset No. 2 seed Erin Epperson of Bartlesville, 3-6, 6-3, 10-8 in the semifinals.
Dick and Alexis Blasi (20-6) claimed their third championship of the spring by beating Broken Arrow’s Shalen Craig and Madison Dabney, 6-0, 6-0 in the finals.
The EHS boys go to the Edmond Tournament today. The girls next tournament is Saturday at Ponca City.
