ENID, Okla. — Northern Oklahoma College’s men’s and women’s basketball teams both posted wins over four-year university JV teams Monday at the Mabee Center.

Marisha Wallace scored 24 points as Northern Oklahoma College’s women had their highest offensive output of the season in beating the Oklahoma Baptist Junior Varsity 92-48.

It was the third straight victory for the Lady Jets, now 4-2. Chelsea Bates had 12 points and Christa Beasler added 10.

Dalen Qualls and Connor Brooks both scored 19 points as the Jets erupted in the second half in a 78-51 win over Southern Nazarene.

In the women’s game, NOC Enid was up 46-28 at halftime. The Lady Jets were able to empty their bench in the second half with 11 different players scoring.

“It was good to get everyone in the rotation and give everybody some significant minutes,’’ said Lady Jets assistant Josiah White. “We were able to get Marisha and Shannon (Hough) together for seveal minutes. Having two big girls in at the same time is something we haven’t been able to do for a while.’’

The Jets only led 36-32 at halftime, thanks to the Crimson Storm hitting seven 3-pointers. NOC Enid, though, outscored SNU 42-19 after intermission.

“Our energy and defensive intensity went up,’’ said Jets assistant coach Ryan Mahoney. “You have to give them credit, they were really shooting the ball well in the first half. We were a little more focused the second half.’’

Mahoney said the Jets played well as a team after intermission, which allowed them to take better advantage of opportunities. The Jets, 4-1, host the OBU JV at 6 tonight.
