EHS softball team visits Sapulpa

ENID, Okla. — Enid’s softball team hopes to build momentum for next week’s playoffs beginning with tonight’s District 6A-4 finale at 6 at Sapulpa.

The Pacers, 13-18 overall and 4-9 in district, beat the Chieftains (2-25, 1-12) 8-1 Sept. 12 at Pacer Field. A win gives Enid an undisputed fifth-place finish in the district race.

Enid hosts Woodward Tuesday and go to El Reno  Thursday before facing the fourth-place finisher in District 6A-3 in the first round of the playoffs. Playoff pairings are expected to be announced Tuesday.

The Pacers have won five of their last six. games.

 “That’s our game plan, win all three and settle in and work out the final kinks and get ready for the playoffs,’’ said Enid coach Marsha Cusack.

 “We need to go over there and play hard. I would like to see us get a shutout. It would be good if we could run-rule them. We’re certainly capable of doing that.’’

Ally Lewis and Abby Lee are both hitting over .400 for the Pacers.
