Rangers eye first victory

ENID, Okla. — Northwestern  Oklahoma State will be going for both an upset and its first win of the season when the Rangers host Southern Arkansas in a Great American Conference football game at 1 today at Ranger Field.

The visiting Muleriders (2-1) are coming off a 20-17 win over Southwestern Oklahoma State. NWOSU lost to Arkansas-Monticello 22-20.

NWOSU quarterback Reid Miller could return to action today after sitting out the Monticello game. He is listed as week-to-week. If he can’t play, L.T. Pfaff will go. He threw for 244 yards last week.

Southern Arkansas quarterback Tyler Sykora is averaging 343 yards passing per game.

The Rangers are trying to avoid an 0-2 start for the second straight year and only the sixth time in school history.
