NORMAN, Okla. — Oklahoma didn’t get in a BCS bowl game this season, but tickets to AT&T Cotton Bowl could be the toughest get since it played in the 2008 BCS championship game in Miami Gardens, Fla.
A brief scan of StubHub.com Thursday morning showed the Jan. 5 meeting with Texas A&M at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, will be pricey.
On Thursday, $102.99 would get you into the stadium. That, however, was for a standing-room ticket. It was $213 for an actual guaranteed seat (the corner of the upper deck).
It shouldn’t be a shock that tickets for the game are so high. OU and Texas A&M sold out their ticket allotments in hours.
Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is stocked with alumni from both schools. Moreover, it’s a three-hour drive to Arlington from either campus.
The Sooners might have missed out on the BCS this season. As far as a big-time atmosphere goes, they’ve hit the jackpot.
