ENID, Okla. —
Playoff football is coming to Enid on Friday night
No. 1-ranked Laverne (12-0) and Rejoice Christian (11-1) will face off in a Class B state semifinal game at 7:30 p.m. Friday at D. Bruce Selby Stadium, Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association announced Saturday.
Laverne has won both of its playoff games by the 45-point mercy rule — 58-12 over Central High and 46-0 over Davenport.
The Eagles have won 11 straight since falling to Dewar, 48-38 in their season opener. Rejoice Christian has beaten Weleetka 46-0 and Garber 44-22 in the playoffs. Laverne beat Garber 54-12 on Oct. 12.
Pond Creek-Hunter (11-1), which beat Wetumka 41-40 in an overtime thriller Friday, will face Fox (12-0) at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Del City’s Kalsu Stadium in the other semifinal.
Fox beat the Panthers 66-44 in the first round of the 2010 playoffs. The Foxes have beaten Merritt, 28-22 and Keota, 52-32 in the postseason. Pond Creek-Hunter beat Paoli 46-0 in the first round.
No. 2-ranked Cherokee (12-0) will face No. 3-ranked Forgan (11-0) at 7:30 p.m. Friday in a Class C semifinal at Woodward. Cherokee beat Balko 30-0 on Friday. The Bulldogs eliminated Deer Creek-Lamont 48-6.
No. 4 Sharon-Mutual (11-1) faces No. 1 Tipton (11-0) at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the other semifinal at Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford.
