Plainsmen baseball team visits Ponca City

ENID, Okla. — Enid’s baseball team will try to bounce back from being swept by District 6A-4 rival Sand Springs (7-0) and 4-3) Saturday when the Plainsmen visit Ponca City at 5 p.m. today.

The Plainsmen are 2-6 in district and 7-13 overall. Ponca City, ranked No. 20 in 6A by Oklahoma,is 14-6 overall and 4-5 in district.

The Wildcats lost to Sand Springs 2-1 on March 2 and 8-5 on March 4.

Ponca City has won nine of its last 10 games, including a 6-6 tie with Fort Osage, Mo., at the recent Bartlesville Tournament.

They were 3-0 at the Shawnee Showdown last weekend with wins over Dale, 7-3; Community Christian, 4-1 and Tecumseh, 6-5.

The two teams will play at David Allen Memorial Ballpark at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Both games can be heard on KCRC (1390 AM).
