Wolverines KO Chiefs

GARBER, Okla. — Dallas Hunt scored five touchdowns and threw for another to lead Garber to a 62-16 win over Waukomis in the District B-1 opener for both teams.

Hunt scored on runs of 9, 1, 1, 3 and 6 yards and threw a 64-yard touchdown pass to Colby Canady. Trenton Harmon and Alec Monsees also scored for the Wolverines, 2-0 overall and 1-0 in district.

Justus Crites scored on an 80-yard kickoff return and threw a 33-yard touchdown pass to Zach Prince for Waukomis. The Chiefs are 1-1 overall and 0-1 in district.

OBA 18, CRESCENT 2

Chris Walker scored twice and Oklahoma Bible Academy scored a big 18-2 win over Crescent.

Walker ran 29 and 58 yards for touchdowns in the fourth quarter to seal the victory, the first ever by OBA over Crescent in four meetings.

Crescent scored a safety in the first quarter and led 2-0 at the half.

Kristian Stitt put the Trojans, 1-1, up for good with a 2-yard run in the third period.

OBA dominated the game statistically, rolling up 306 total yards, including 244 on the ground, while holding Crescent to 104 total yards. The Tigers could muster only 13 yards rushing on 13 attempts.

CHEROKEE 50, BLUEJACKET 0

CHEROKEE — Tanner Bowman scored three touchdowns to lead Cherokee to a 50-0 mercy rule win over Bluejacket.

The Chiefs, ranked No. 2 in Class C, dominated from the start over No. 5 Bluejacket. Cherokee led 36-0 after one period, with Bowman scoring on runs of 18, 55 and 42 yards.

Tanner Ducotey scored two touchdowns on runs of 52 and 25 yards. Brandon Waugh and Cole DeWitt scored the other touchdowns for the Chiefs.

Cherokee, 2-0, rolled up 379 yards rushing and held Bluejacket, 1-1, to just 74 total yards.



MOORELAND 35, PIONEER 20

MOORELAND — Mooreland won its homecoming game 35-20 over Pioneer.

The Bearcats evened their record at 1-1. The Mustangs fall to 0-2.

DCLA 32, KREM-HILLSDALE 16

LAMONT — Deer Creek-Lamont rallied in the second half to beat Kremlin-Hillsdale for its first win of the season.

The Eagles trailed 16-12 at the half but got two touchdowns from Bryson Holeman in the second half to secure the win. Holeman scored on a 5-yard pass from Harrison Muegge and returned a fumble 15 yards for another score.

Muegge scored on runs of 4 and 8 yards for DCLA, which also got a score from Jessen Hodges.

The Broncs’ touchdowns came on a 75-yard kickoff return by Jaderion Stubblefield and a 30-yard pass from Andre Lizar to Kass Bittle.

DCLA is 1-1 and Kremlin Hillsdale is 0-2.

POND CREEK-HUNTER 46, COVINGTON-DOUGLAS 0

POND CREEK — Devan McKee scored twice and Pond Creek-Hunter dominated Covington-Douglas 46-0.

McKee scored on a 27-yard pass from Josh Irvin and returned an interception 38 yards for a score.

The win boosts the Panthers, 2-0 and ranked No. 2 in Class B, to 2-0. Trent Grimes, Harley Comeau, Parker Coats and Derek Halcomb also scored for PC-H.

The loss dropped the Wildcats, who have not scored this season, to 0-2.

The Panthers held C-D to just 4 yards total offense.

HENNESSEY 40, JONES 13

HENNESSEY — Dylan Hatchel was a one-man wrecking crew as Hennessey beat Jones 40-13.

Hatchel ran for 113 yards and two touchdowns and threw three scoring passes. He connected with Steven Lott for touchdown passes of 2 and 7 yards and with Edgar Fierro for 19 yards. Fierro also threw a 61-yard touchdown pass to Jose Sanchez.

The Eagles, ranked No. 4 in Class 2A, are 2-0.

THOMAS 14, OKEENE 0

OKEENE — Thomas won a matchup of Class A powers, beating Okeene 14-0.

All the scoring came in the third period. Thomas’ Trent Dunaway threw touchdown passes of 10 yards to Blake Wohl and 25 yards to Shell Apple.

The Terriers, 2-0, are ranked No. 1 in Class A. The Whippets, who came in No. 7, are 1-1.

Okeene had 242 total yards in offense, but were stymied by five turnovers.

KINGFISHER 58, CHANDLER 19

CHANDLER — Landon Nault scored three touchdowns to lead Kingfisher to a 58-19 win over Chandler.

Nault carried the ball 14 times for 154 yards and scored on runs of 18, 57 and 4 yards.

The Yellowjackets, 2-0 and ranked No. 2 in Class 3A, led 37-19 at the half and shut out Chandler in the second half.

LAVERNE 38, CANTON 14

CANTON — Defending Class B champion Laverne won its 16th straight game with a 38-14 win over Canton.

The Tigers, 2-0, led 32-0 at the half as Trevor Harris scored three touchdowns on runs of 54 and 14 yards and a 63-yard pass from Tucker Rolf. Rolf scored on an 8-yard run.

The Tigers’ other score came on a 10-yard pass from Colten Person to Trenton McConnell.

Canton, 1-1, scored on a 4-yard pass from M.J. White Eagle to Lance Sessions and a 33-yard run by Wade Webb.

TIMBERLAKE 52, CLAREMORE CHRISTIAN 6

CLAREMORE — Timberlake bounced back from last week’s loss to thump Claremore Christian 52-6 in the Class C-3 opener for both teams.

The Tigers, 1-1, lost 84-44 to Ringwood to open the season, but scored the first-half mercy rule win in the second game.

SHATTUCK 46, WAYNOKA 0

SHATTUCK — Shattuck bounced back from an opening-season loss to beat Waynoka 46-0.

Trevor Carpenter scored on runs of 7, 2 and 2 yards for the Indians. Trenton Calloway, Skylar Pshigoda and Trenton Sween also scored for Shattuck, 1-1.

Waynoka is 0-2.

WATONGA 48, BURNS FLAT 12

WATONGA — Watonga evened its record at 1-1 with a 48-12 win over Burns Flat-Dill City.

The Eagles will play host to Snyder next week.

RINGWOOD 41, SEILING 6

SEILING — Ringwood defeated Seiling 41-6 to remain undefeated.

The Red Devils are 2-0 after beating Timberlake last week. Seiling falls to 0-2.
