EHS swim to host meet today at YMCA

Enid’s swimmers, which had 11 state cuts at last weekend’s Harrah Invitational, will host Lawton’s three high schools  in a 5:30 p.m. dual today at Denny Price Family YMCA.

EHS coach Ginny Shipley said her team’s goals are to get as many state cuts as possible. Ashley Valdez (100 breast) and Jeremy Crise (100 free) are closing in on qualfiying standards.

Shipley still is looking for the right combinations for the relays. Sara Nazari, Hunter McEachern and Whitney Livesay will team with Valdez to swim the 200 and 400 free relays for the girls.

Nazari will be swimming the 500 free where she will be shooting for Amanda Autry’s school record of 5:14.15.

Lawton High, Eisenhower and MacArthur are expected to bring a combined 43 swimmers.

“Anybody has a shot to win the dual,’’ Shipley said.

The duals will be scored separately in a standard meet scoring format.
