Covington-Douglas (3-3, 4-4 at Bartlesville Wesleyan (1-5, 1-7) — The visiting Wildcats need a win to set up a District C-3 playoff showdown game with Kremlin-Hillsdale next week. Bartlesville Wesleyan has given up 126 points in its last two games. Covington-Douglas threw for more than 200 yards for the third time this season in a 62-30 win over Medford last week. Covington-Douglas won last year’s game, 52-27.

Seiling (5-1, 7-1) at Kremlin-Hillsdale (4-2, 5-3) — A win would give Kremlin-Hillsdale its first winning season since 2000. Broncs quarterback Jake Streck has thrown for 38 touchdown passes this season. The Wildcats have won three straight games. A Seiling win would put the Wildcats in a strong position to take second place in District C-3. Seiling won last year’s game, 40-14. The Wildcats are ranked No. 3 in Class C.

Douglass (3-2, 5-3) at Woodward (2-3, 3-5) — The Boomers, coming off a tough 16-14 loss to Elk City, need to upset the No. 6-ranked Trojans to keep their playoff hopes alive. Woodward lost three fumbles against the Elks. Douglass leads the series 9-7. The Trojans have won the last four meetings, including 45-16 last season.

Alva (1-4, 3-5) at Perry (2-3, 4-4) — The homestanding Maroons need a win to set up a playoff showdown with John Marshall next week. Alva’s 28-13 loss to John Marshall last week all but knocked the Goldbugs out of the playoff chase. The Goldbugs forced four turnovers, but allowed 362 yards in total offense. Alva has lost three straight games. A loss would give the Goldbugs their first losing season since 2001. Alva leads the series 11-8 and has won the last five meetings, including 26-20 last season.

Kingfisher (4-1, 6-2) at Fairview (0-5, 0-8) — A Kingfisher win would set up a meeting with Newkirk next week for second place in District 2A-1. The K-Yellowjackets are riding a three-game winning streak, including a 55-0 win over Perry last week. It was the second time this season Kingfisher has scored 55 points in a game. Jacob York has scored 11 touchdowns for Kingfisher. Fairview tries to come back from a 35-21 loss to St. Mary’s. The F-Yellowjackets forced four turnovers in that game, but allowed 390 yards in total offense. Kingfisher won last year’s game, 46-10.

Hooker (0-7, 0-8) at Okeene (5-2, 6-2) — The Whippets try to come back from last week’s 21-6 loss to No. 3-ranked Hennessey. The Whippets have thrown for 100 yards or more in all of their eight games. Okeene has allowed only one opponent to pass for more than 100 yards. Hooker has lost 29 straight games. Okeene leads the series 4-0 since 1995, including a 63-0 win last season.

Texhoma (4-3, 5-3) at Turpin (4-3, 5-3) — Texhoma would be in the drivers seat for fourth place in District A-1 with a victory. Turpin’s playoff hopes took a dent in losing to Beaver, 8-7 last week. The two teams are tied with Beaver for fourth place in District A-1. Texhoma has a win over Beaver so it would have the tiebreaker if it beats Turpin. If Texhoma wins and Pioneer beats Beaver, the Red Devils are in the playoffs. The schedule favors Texhoma with the Red Devils playing Hooker (0-8) next week. Turpin faces Hennessey (8-0) and Beaver faces Okeene (6-2). Turpin, with a win, would be in good shape in case of a three-way tie. The Cardinals have 58 points under the Arkansas Plan compared to 29 for Texhoma and minus 15 for Beaver.

Cashion (6-0, 8-0 at Wellston (0-6, 1-7) — The visiting Wildcats, ranked No. 6 in Class A, can clinch the District A-2 championship with a victory. Wellston has lost seven straight games since opening the season with a 16-8 win over Drumright.

Thomas (2-4, 4-4) at Christian Heritage (3-4, 3-5) — The winner still has a chance at the playoffs. The visiting Terriers try to avenge last year’s 40-14 loss to the Crusaders.

Crescent (2-4, 3-5) at OCS (4-2, 6-2) — Crescent needs a win to keep its playoff hopes alive. OCS tries to come back from a 12-10 loss to Cashion.

Luther (4-2, 5-3) at Watonga (5-1, 6-2) — Watonga can clinch second place in District A-2 with a victory. Luther could get second in the district with wins over Watonga and OCS. The Eagles had their highest scoring game of the season in a 49-14 rout of Crescent last week. Quarterback Trevon Hartfield has scored 15 touchdowns and has thrown for 15 more. Watonga had a season-high 342 yards rushing against Crescent. Watonga won last year’s game, 26-14.



8-Man



Cherokee (3-3, 4-4) at Ringwood (1-5, 1-7) — Cherokee can set up a meeting with Pond Creek-Hunter for a playoff spot with a win over the Red Devils, who have lost four straight games. The Chiefs are trying to win four straight games for the first time since 1999. The 8-man series is tied 4-4 since 1999. Ringwood has won the last two meetings, including 43-8 last season.

Geary (4-4) at DCLA (7-1) — This non-district game won’t be much of a break for the Eagles, who face Class C No. 2-ranked Timberlake next week. Canton, No. 2 ranked in Class B, had to score in the final 30 seconds to beat the Bison 22-20 last week. Geary beat Laverne 28-6 on Oct. 15 and came within a whisker of beating Pond Creek-Hunter 34-28 Oct. 9. DCLA has won two straight since a 28-22 overtime loss to Seiling on Oct. 9. Derric Richards has scored 15 touchdowns for the Eagles, 10 on plays of 30 yards or more. DCLA leads the series 3-0 since 1998, including a wild 60-53 victory last season.

Pond Creek-Hunter (3-3, 4-4) at Merritt (0-6, 0-8) — The Panthers warm up for next week’s playoff showdown game with Cherokee. The Panthers had season highs for rushing (254 yards) and passing (288) in a 46-6 rout of Waukomis last week. Quarterback Cody Coats has thrown for 16 touchdowns, including six to both Johnie Michael and Rikki Winton. Pond Creek-Hunter won last year’s game, 50-16.

Buffalo (2-4, 3-5) at Boise City (5-1, 7-1) — Boise City has won five straight games since a 48-24 loss to six-time defending Class C state champion Shattuck on Sept. 11. Boise City and Forgan could be meeting for second place in District C-1 next week. Buffalo leads the series 9-6 since 1970, including a 38-8 win last season.

Waynoka (4-2, 5-2) at Forgan (5-1, 5-3) — Forgan, with a win, would be facing Boise City for second place in District C-1 next week. Waynoka is assured of going to the playoffs. The visiting Railroaders lead the series 17-5 since 1974, including a 26-14 victory last season. Waynoka has won six of the last seven meetings.

Goodwell (1-5, 2-6) at Shattuck (6-0, 8-0) — The Indians are seeking to break the national 8-man record for consecutive wins (91). Goodwell has lost four straight games, three by shutouts. Shattuck is 9-0 against Goodwell, including a 52-6 rout last season.

Tyrone (2-4, 3-5) at Sharon-Mutual (3-4, 3-5) — Sharon-Mutual is coming off losses to Boise City (42-30) and Shattuck (46-32). Tyrone broke a four-game losing streak last week by beating Balko 56-14. Sharon-Mutual leads the series 13-8, but the Bobcats won last year’s game, 28-26.

Braman (0-6, 0-8) at Timberlake (6-0, 8-0) — Braman’s eight losses have all been by the mercy rule. Seven of Timberlake’s eight wins have been by the mercy rule. Seven different players have scored four or more touchdowns for the Tigers this season — Jake Bowers (9), Mitchell Ballard (4), Kedrick Jackson (5), Logan Campbell (4), Coy Troutt (6), Johnny Ketterman (13) and Stetson Buller (4). Timberlake won last year’s game by forfeit.

Coyle (1-5, 2-6) at Medford (2-5, 2-6) — Both teams are riding three-game losing streaks. Medford has given up 158 points the last three weeks. Coyle has given up 191 points — 65 to Canton, 62 to Timberlake and 64 to DCLA. Medford leads the series 5-0.
