Registered voters in Garfield County who become physically incapacitated after 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, won’t have to miss the Feb. 5 presidential preferential primary and the annual school election for Waukomis I-1, Pioneer-Pleasant Vale I-56, Pond Creek-Hunter I-90, Hennessey I-16 and Mulhall-Orlando I-3, said Lue Ann Root, Garfield County Election Board secretary.
Oklahoma state law permits registered voters who will be unable to go to the polls because they became incapacitated after 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, to vote on an emergency basis. “Physical incapacitation” includes a variety of conditions—injury, illness, childbirth—that prevent a person from voting in person at the polls on Election Day.
“If you think you or someone you know fits into this category, contact the County Election Board office at 237-6016 as soon as possible for more information,” Root said.
